Dharma Master of the Lotus Sutra

Buddhism is not a religion its a way, its practicing to find ones way and ones true self, a self not afflicted by its ego. I find Buddhism fascinating I collect buddhist writing because I want to understand myself more and to understand existence to experience true self awareness. In this spiritual practice the most unique thing that really grabs my attention is the whole motion or movement away from material to Immaterial. The west should take heed of this great message ( this transformation Buddhist followers seem to undertake) a message that is embodied in a Nun. Dharma Master Cheng Yen founder of the worlds biggest Buddhist charity, commonly referred to as TZU CHI. The organisations motto go’s like this ” Instructing the Rich, and Saving the Poor” this unbelievably spiritual being has helped thousands and thousands of people world wide. In the beginning she shaved her own head as a symbol of her desire to lead a monastic life. The Tzu Chi foundation was created when the young master encountered three catholic nuns at Pu Ming temple 1966. The sisters acknowledged the power of buddhist teachings but after talking about the roman catholics church’s efforts in building hospitals they turned and asked Cheng Yen what has Buddhism done for society?

Those words inspired the masters efforts in years to come. Cheng Yen we salute you!

“Beware of your thoughts as they become your words. Beware of your words as they become your actions. Beware of your actions as they become your habits. Beware of your habits as they become your fate.”
